It began with an idea. You felt that itch in your brain that wouldn’t go away. The odd note hastily jotted down between daily tasks and errands would subdue it, for a while, but it kept coming back. Each time, louder and longer, until at last you had thrown yourself into it. You started writing.

By the time you put the final mark on the final page, you felt a mixture of relief and exhaustion. You had poured your soul into what lay before you, monolithic, a testament to your mind and your muse. There it was, your manuscript. The next step seemed simple and logical — it was time to publish.

And then you learned the awful truth, that seeing your work on the shelf would mean spending several years in a tedious waiting game of lip service from a literary agent and an eventual offer of a few cents on the dollar per copy sold by a corporation that only sees you as an account number. The alternative would be spending a small fortune to have a fly-by-night print a few hundred copies for you, after spending another small fortune on their mandatory “handling” fees.

At Bridian House, we believe it doesn’t have to be that way. We’re reimagining what it means to publish independently by building an author-centric enterprise that values partnership, quality, and community above all else.

Who We Are

We’re not a traditional publisher, and we’re not just a service provider. We’re something in between: a collaborative publishing house that helps you get from “I have an idea” to “I’m a published author” with confidence.

Each author who works with us is paired with a dedicated publishing agent. Your agent, or Factor, is your partner and guide throughout the process, handling everything from editorial coordination and design to distribution and marketing. By keeping their client lists small and their incentives aligned with your success, Factors stay focused on quality, not volume.

Our royalty structure reflects that same spirit of shared investment. Authors earn a 50% royalty in the first year, with that share increasing annually until it reaches 90% in the fifth year and beyond. Factors earn a portion of the royalties retained by Bridian House, ensuring they remain committed to your book’s long-term success.

Why This Matters

Too often, independent authors are forced to choose between doing it all themselves or handing their work over to companies that prioritize scale over substance. We want to change that.

Our goal is to create a publishing community where authors are heard, supported, and empowered, where agents and creatives do meaningful, sustainable work, and where books are treated not as commodities, but as crafted contributions to our world’s culture.

This is publishing as partnership and with purpose.
